The Man in the Mirror

And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image… (2 Corinthians 3:18, Amplified)

… if anyone only listens to the Word without obeying it and being a doer of it, he is like a man who looks carefully at his [own] natural face in a mirror; for he thoughtfully observes himself, and then goes off and promptly forgets what he was like. (James 1:22-23, Amplified)

But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you. (John 14:26, Amplified)

Do you see what I see? It says that when we look into the Word of God it is like looking in a mirror. We are to see ourselves the way God sees us.

The scripture listed above from the book of James says that when we don’t do what the Word of God says, it is like a man who looks in the mirror and then walks away and forgets what he looks like.

But then there is the Holy Spirit and one of His job descriptions is that He has come to remind us of the things God has said.

God said you are the righteousness of God in Christ.

God said that you are more than a conqueror.

God said that you are the head and not the tail.

God said that you are redeemed from the curse and you are blessed.

God said that by His stripes you WERE healed.

God said that you were healed of all your diseases.

God said that you were forgiven of all your sins.

God said that He loves you just as much as He loves Jesus.

God said that His love is in your heart even now.

God said that you are His child.

God said that the Holy Spirit lives in you. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead.

God said that you could do all things through Christ (the Anointed One and His anointing) which strengthens you.

God said that you will do the works that Jesus did and even greater works.

God said that you were born of His seed. You are born of God.

And that’s just the beginning…

Holy Spirit remind us of who we are and what we are called to do and anointed to do. In Jesus’ Name we pray, amen.

Words of Grace

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. (Ephesians 4:29, KJV)

But He gives us more and more grace (power of the Holy Spirit…) (James 4:6, Amplified)

That your words may minister grace unto the hearer. The Lord asks us and anoints us to speak words of grace. Words that minister the power needed to do what God has called us to do.

God has called us to be like Him. Our words are to minister grace, because His words minister grace.

How do you access grace? By faith. It is by faith that it might be by grace (Romans 4:16)

I once asked the Lord for the grace to walk in love. His response was an instant insight into how Jesus walked as the Son of God in this earth. Here is what He showed me.

And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. (Luke 3:22, KJV)

Jesus believed what God said about Him. He believed that He was God’s Son. He believed that God loved Him. He believed that God was pleased with Him. He had faith in God and in God’s Words to Him and by that faith, He accessed the grace to walk it out in this earth.

In Luke 4:18-21 we also see that He believed that the Holy Spirit was upon Him and that He was anointed and by faith He accessed the grace (the power of the Holy Spirit) to walk it out.

Now the Bible says that I am born of God’s seed and God is Love. I am born of God, I am born of Love. The Bible also states that God’s love has been shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit.

What happens when I believe this? I access the grace to walk it out in this earth.

This is not only true of the few scriptures I have shared in this post. It is true for all the things God has spoken to us in His Word.

Believe what He says and by faith access the grace in His Words to walk it out in this earth.

Remind Me

But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you. (John 14:26, Amplified)

As I read this scripture one day, I was reminded of something that I once heard a minister say. He said that the body of Christ doesn’t consistently walk in love, because it is not in the forefront of our minds. We don’t always remember to walk in love.

This scripture says that the Holy Spirit will remind us of the things we have been told. So I decided to ask the Holy Spirit to remind me to walk in love. Remind me what love is. Remind me that I am born of Love and that the love of God has been shed abroad in my heart. Remind me to, by faith, access the grace to love.

I made this request during my morning prayer time. Shortly after, I headed out the door and on the road to my first appointment of the day. As I drove along, a car began to tailgate me. I decided to move over and kind of tensed up as I knew the car would now speed up well above the speed limit to pass me. I really don’t like it when they do that. Just as I moved over and the other car began to accelerate, I heard this instruction in my spirit, “Don’t notice that.”

I immediately knew the Holy Spirit was reminding me that love doesn’t notice a suffered wrong.

As I continued to drive, another car began to tailgate me. I was in the middle lane and the lanes on either side of me where empty. I thought to myself, “They can just go around me.”

Just as I had that thought, I once again heard some instruction from the Holy Spirit. He said, “And when he does, don’t get mad.”

That morning I had asked the Holy Spirit to remind me to love and immediately He began to do just that. The Bible tells us that He, the Holy Spirit has come to help us and He is ready to do just that. All you have to do is ask.

The Unhindered Flow of His Love

…and if I have [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not love (God’s love in me) I am nothing (a useless nobody). (1 Corinthians 13:2, Amplified)

…God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us. (Romans 5:5, Amplified)

What is perfected love? Love that is allowed to “run its full course” (1 John 4:12, Amplified). Love that is allowed to flow unhindered.

…Take for us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vineyards [of our love], for our vineyards are in blossom. (Song of Solomon 2:15, Amplified)

Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalm 139:23-24)

How do I get His power that is in me out? It’s a heart issue. Let His Words search your heart and filter out all the things that should not be there. Then His love can flow unhindered through you changing hearts, changing bodies, changing circumstances, changing lives, changing this world!

What does unhindered love look like? Like Jesus when He walked this earth.

…who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. (Acts 10:38, KJV)

For Love was with Him and allowed to run His full course doing good and healing all.

I AM…

And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. (Exodus 3:14, KJV)

GOD:

I AM patient and I AM kind.

I AM merciful and I AM good.

I AM faithful and I AM forgiving.

And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth… (Exodus 34:6, KJV)

O Give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. (Psalm 136:1, KJV)

Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, extend to the skies, and Your faithfulness to the clouds. (Psalm 36:5, Amplified)

THe LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgressions… (Numbers 14:18, KJV)

Who forgiveth all thine iniquities… (Psalm 103:3, KJV)

I AM your Father and I AM love.

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. (Luke 11:2)

God is love. (1 John 4:8)

GOD’s child:

I am patient and I am kind.

God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us. (Romans 5:5, Amplified)

(God’s love in me)… endures long and is patient and kind… (1 Corinthians 13:3,4; Amplified)

I am merciful and I am good.

Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. (Luke 6:36, NKJV)

But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy… peace, patience… kindness, goodness… faithfulness, gentleness… self-control… (Galatians 5:22-23, Amplified)

I am faithful and I am forgiving.

But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit… is faithfulness. (Galatians 5:22, Amplified)

And be ye kind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:32, KJV)

I am Your child, born of Your seed, and I am love.

Now are we the sons of God. (1 John 3:2)

Being born again, not of corruptible see, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. (1 Peter 1:23, KJV)

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God… (1 John 4:7, KJV)

God is love. (1 John 4:8, KJV)

Experience His Love

That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]… (Ephesians 3:18, Amplified)

[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled… unto all the fullness of God… (Ephesians 3:19, Amplified)

Experience. It’s one thing to know a thing with what we call “head knowledge”, it’s quite another to know a thing by experience. I can know a lot about surfing, but it doesn’t compare to knowing what it’s like to surf by actually riding upon a wave. I knew a lot about falling in love. I think every little girl does. But that knowledge didn’t prepare me for how wonderful the experience would be when I fell in love with my husband.

I heard someone reading Ephesians 3:18-19 yesterday and when they read the words “experience of that love”, so many thoughts flooded my heart. I thought of the book of Acts. A narration of the acts of the apostles done in His Name and through His power. They were not simply the acts of the apostles, but acts of love. God demonstrating His love through the words and hands of men.

I thought of the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit. Once again, not simply manifestations of His Spirit, but manifestations of His love towards men.

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. (Acts 10:38, KJV)

I thought of Jesus, going about doing good, healing all. When people came in contact with Jesus, they came in contact with God’s love and they experienced His love. They were healed. They were fed. They were delivered. They were forgiven. They were made whole. Each one had an experience with His love.

Jesus said to the man delivered of demons, “Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee” (Mark 5:19, KJV). This man not only knew God’s love, He experienced God’s love.

I teach classes on healing and classes on love and I am more determined than ever that people who take these classes will not just gain head knowledge of God’s love for them, but in each class experience that love. And not only in a class setting, I pray that when others come in contact with me at the mall, at the gas station, in the grocery stores, that more and more people experience His love through me.

The Bible speaks of ambassadors for Christ. We are ambassadors of the One Who is love. Become one through whom this world can experience His love.
