He did not tell them anything without a parable; but privately to His disciples (those who were peculiarly His own) He explained everything [fully]. (Mark 4:34, Amplified)
The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning. (Psalm 25:14, Amp)
…His confidential communion and secret counsel are with the [uncompromisingly] righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with Him). (Proverbs 3:32, Amplified)
The Bible tells us in Psalm 103 that God made his acts know to the children of Israel, but to Moses He made known His ways.
The Israelites saw the things that God did. They knew His power. They knew Him by His works. But Moses knew God. He didn’t just see the works, God talked to Him about them even before He did it.
In Genesis 18:17 (Amplified) God said, “Shall I hide from Abraham [My friend and servant] what I am going to do?” He didn’t. He went on to tell Abraham of His plans. Imagine that, the King of the Universe shared His plans with a man and called him friend.
It is said of Noah that he “walked with God”. I like how it says it in the Amplified version. It says that Noah, “walked in habitual fellowship with God”.
No one had ever heard of rain. No one had ever heard of a flood. No one had ever heard of an ark. But Noah as he walked with God not only knew what was coming in the future, but he also knew what to do about it to save himself and his family.
He didn’t keep it to himself either. He preached it every day as he built that ark, but those who didn’t know God didn’t see what was coming and didn’t know to believe Noah, so they perished.
There are those that are His own. Those who revere and worship Him. Those who are and know they are in right standing with Him. And to those He reveals the deep and inner meaning of His covenant. With those He has confidential communion and secret counsel.
Noah was in on the secret and it saved him. God wishes all men to be saved, but will they make the choice and take the time to be His own?
“I want to know You more” the song says! I’m so blessed that He loved me enough to answer my heart’s desire…to know Him more! Hallelujah!
