Strength

…let the weak say, I am strong. (Joel 3:10, KJV)

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Corinthians 12:9, KJV)

…be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him… (Ephesians 6:10, Amplified)

I remember a time when I was sitting in church and the person speaking to the congregation asked, “Who here feels weak?”

Without a moments hesitation my hand shot straight up along with just a handful of others in that congregation of hundreds or maybe even a thousand.

Was I feeling downtrodden? Was I feeling defeated? Was I under the pressures of life? No. I was just thinking compared to Him I am weak. Without Him, I can do nothing.

The Bible tells us that God is love in 1 John 4:18. It also says in 1 Corinthians 13:2 (Amplified) that without “…love (God’s love in me) I am nothing (a useless nobody).”

Without Him I am weak and useless, but I am not without Him and I never will be. He said He would never leave me nor forsake me (Hebrews 13:5). So when I face those times of weakness, when I face those times of infirmity (which literally means want of strength), I have nothing to fear, His strength will be made perfect in me in those times.

The power of Christ (which literally means the Anointed One and His Anointing) will rest upon me in those times. That same burden-removing, yoke-destroying power that Jesus walked this earth with will be resting upon me. I would rather glory in those times I am most in want of strength, because that’s when I stop trying to do it in my own strength and His strength and His power are manifested in my life.

Through faith also Sarah herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. (Hebrews 11:11, KJV)

Because of faith also Sarah herself received physical power to conceive a child, even when she was long past the age for it, because she considered [God] Who had give her the promise to be reliable and trustworthy and true to His word. (Hebrews 11:11, Amplified)

Sarah came to the end of her own strength. By her faith in Him, God’s strength came upon her and produced what she had not been able to produce on her own. Nothing is impossible with God and thank God that He is with us! Emmanuel – God with us! (Matthew 1:23)

I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me. (Philippians 4:13, KJV)

…be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him… (Ephesians 6:10, Amplified)

I can do all things through His strength as I draw my strength from Him. I am empowered through my union with Him. What are you facing today? Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
