Fear Not, Believe Only

On a daily basis I see and speak to people who are physically ill. Because of my job I mostly see and speak to people with terminal illnesses. I’ve done this for 15 years. I’ve seen their fear. I’ve seen their faith.

I’d like to share a scripture with you that has not only helped me in my own walk of faith, but has also helped many of these precious people in their walk of faith.

First, the context. Jairus, a synagogue ruler comes to Jesus saying his daughter is at the point of death and will Jesus come heal her. Jesus turns to go with him. As they are walking to Jairus’ home a woman with an issue of blood comes up and in faith touches the hem of Jesus’ garment. She is instantly healed. Jesus stops to find out who touched him and she shares about her healing, thus prolonging his trip to Jairus’ home. In the meantime Jairus’ daughter dies (see Mark 5 and Luke 8).

It didn’t work out the way Jairus had hoped. He expected Jesus to arrive before she died. He expected Jesus to heal her, but did he ever expect Jesus to raise her from the dead?

While He was still speaking, there came some from the ruler’s house, who said [to Jairus], Your daughter has died. Why bother and distress the Teacher any further? Overhearing but ignoring what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear; only keep on believing. (Mark 5:35-36, Amplified)

Jesus arrives to Jairus’ home and finds people weeping and wailing. When He tells them she is not dead they begin to laugh and jeer at Him. He throws them out. I like that part. Yea Jesus!

Gripping her  [firmly] by the hand, He said to her, Talitha cumi – which translated is, Little girl, I say to you, arise [from the sleep of death]! And instantly the girl got up… (Mark 5:41-42, Amplified).

My point for sharing all this is to ask you, At what point do we start fearing and stop believing? This father’s child was dead and Jesus said to him fear not, only believe. I have held on to this scripture and seen impossible situations completely turned around. I have seen people at the point of death hold on to this scripture and be healed of a terminal disease.

So I have another question for you. At what point do we start fearing and stop believing God concerning our nation?

That’s the USA for me. The same applies to whatever nation you are in. Let’s fear not. How? Remember His love for you. Perfected love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). And let’s keep on believing. Selah.

Love Her Life Back

On the Fourth of July of this year, God said something to me that has changed the way I see everything in this nation. He had me turn to Isaiah 38:17 in my Amplified Bible. This is what it says.

…You have loved back my life from the pit of corruption and nothingness, for You have cast all my sins behind Your back.

I saw immediately what He was saying to me. He was going to love back this nation from the pit of corruption and nothingness, because He was going to cast her sins behind His back. I also immediately knew what that meant. He was going to do it as I did it. Where is His love? Shed abroad in my heart (Romans 5:5). And I have been asked to forgive, to remit the sins of others (John 20:22-23; 1 John 5:16).

The Lord once put a person in my life who was quite challenging to love. I was complaining to the Lord about it. (He already knew what I was thinking). His response to me was, “I didn’t put her in your life so that you could judge her. I put her in your life, so that you could love her.”

When He spoke those words, I knew what else He was saying to me. Isaiah 38:17 (Amp) came to mind. I was to love her life back from the pit of corruption and nothingness by casting her sins behind my back. I did. And her life was indeed loved back from that pit.

Just the other day a scripture that I don’t really like to think about came to mind.

And the love of the great body of people will grow cold because of the multiplied lawlessness and iniquity… (Matthew 24:12, Amplified)

The word translated as love in this verse is the Greek word agape. It is the God kind of love and only those who have received His Son as their Savior have this kind of love. Has the lawlessness and iniquity that is running rampant in the world, in this nation, including in our government caused your love to grow cold?

Across the Body of Christ many are praying for and expecting a great awakening to God. Who is God? He is love. I am praying for and expecting a great awakening to love.

So on the Fourth of July as God spoke that scripture in my heart I knew He needed His people to love and forgive. I said, “You can use me to love back this nation. I will love her.”

In the next moment I knew what that meant. I must love Barak Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and all the others that are taking this nation further and further away from her Godly foundations.

Do I agree with them? No. Do I condone their sins? No. But does that mean I get to not love them, or even hate them? No. Will I vote for them? No.

I am looking for that great awakening to love and it starts with me. It starts with you. Will you be a part of God loving this nation back, by loving the people of this nation from the top to the bottom?

God Bless Her

And God said, Let there be light; and there was light. (Genesis 1:3, Amp)

…God… calleth those things that be not as though they were. (Romans 4:17, KJV)

So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God he created him… (Genesis 1:27, Amp)

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live. (Deuteronomy 30:19, KJV)

Death and life are in the power of the tongue… (Proverbs 18:21, KJV)

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. (Mark 11:23, KJV)

He shall have whatsoever he saith. Created in His image. He spoke and it was. We speak and well sometimes we see and sometimes we don’t. It’s the things we say in faith. The things we say with no doubt in our heart. The things we believe shall come to pass as we speak.

Today is the Fourth of July! My question today is what are you saying about this nation?

We have been created in His image. We have been give the power of blessing and cursing in our mouths. Are you blessing this nation? Blessing means empowered to prosper. Are you empowering this nation to prosper? Or are you agreeing with the those who would tear her down with the words of their mouths? Or are you agreeing with those who are complaining about all that is wrong with this nation?

God calls those things that be not as though they were. He called Abraham the father of many nations long before Abraham became a father of one. We are created in His image. We can speak those things that are not as though they were. And those things that we speak in faith and believe will come to pass we can have.

How can you have faith that your words will come to pass? Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). If God said it and you believe it, then when you say it, you can have it.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD… (Psalm 33:12, KJV)

Our current president said that this is not a Christian nation. The founding fathers would not agree with him and neither do I. I thank God that people are free to worship in this nation, including freedom for other religions. But the foundations of this nation are Christian foundations. Our constitution, which many would like to forget and ignore, has stood the test of time. Why? Because it has its foundation in the unfailing Word of God.

I say this nation is a nation whose God is the Lord and this nation is blessed! This is a land of liberty (freedom) and justice for all! God bless America. And today and every day I choose to bless her with the words of my mouth.

We are in a very interesting and intense time in this nation. Times look hard. People have taken sides and are pointing fingers. Seeds of division are being sown all around. Unfortunately, more and more this is the way things are in this nation, but more so at election time. But one thing needs to remain clear, regardless of what side we are on, and what the other side is doing, it is not an excuse to step out of love. It is not an excuse to disregard and break the commandment we received from our King.

Does that mean we have to agree on everything? No. But even in disagreement we must remember that love is patient and kind. We must remember that love is humble and courteous. We must remember that it is the love way, God’s way, that never fails. He did not tell us to love so that we would be trampled on and overcome by evil. No, He was telling us the way to overcome is by love.

If the enemy can get us into fear, out of faith and love, he can and will overrun this nation. Please know that I am not talking about a particular party or candidate. I’m talking about an enemy that hates what this nation stands for: “One nation under God with liberty and justice for all”. The enemy knows a house divided cannot stand. He is hoping to divide this nation and watch it fall. Refuse to be divided in your heart from this nation or the people of this nation. Whether you agree or not, you can and still must love.

I was praying over these things yesterday. I wasn’t praying in fear, but in faith and in love and from my heavenly seat of authority. And God dropped a familiar phrase into my heart. “Fear not. Only believe and she shall be made whole.”

Fear not. Only believe. And she, America, shall be made whole. Remember it is love that casts out all fear. Yield to love. Trust God, Who is Love. Believe to see the goodness of the LORD, hesed – God’s love, in the land of the living (Psalm 27:3). If we in the Body of Christ will fear not (stay out of divisive hate, doesn’t mean you have to agree); only believe – trust God, believe to see His goodness in America; she, America will be made whole.

I voted today. I voted from a place of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness (faith), gentleness (meekness, humility) and self-control. I cast my vote in love and love never fails!
