I am His.

I said these words to a friend a few days ago and since then they have come to mind many times throughout the day. And each time I hear them I sense a great peace come over me.

The LORD is on my side; I will not fear… (Psalm 118:6, KJV)

Who am I? I am His. I’ve been bought with a price. He wanted me to be His so much that He was willing to redeem me with the price of His Son’s life and His only Son’s blood.

The Creator of the Universe is on my side. I am His and He is mine. What could I possibly fear?

I think of Joshua, Caleb and the ten other spies that Moses sent into Canaan to spy out their promised land. Joshua and Caleb’s report, “…we are well able to conquer it” (Numbers 13:30, Amplified).

The other ten spies’ report, “…we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight” (Numbers 13:33, KJV).

Joshua and Caleb focused on who they were in relation to God. We are His chosen nation, His chosen people. We are His covenant people. He has given us this land and we are well able, with His help to take it.

The ten spies focused on themselves in comparison to the inhabitants of the land. They saw themselves as small and defenseless compared to the ‘giants’ that inhabited the land.

That didn’t stop David. His words when he heard the challenges of a giant, “…who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?” (1 Samuel 17:26).

Saul’s response to David, “Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth” (1 Samuel 17:33, KJV)

One thing I don’t like at all, is for someone to tell me what I can’t do and why I can’t do it. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me (Philippians 4:13, KJV).

Because of Him and who I am to Him and Who He is to me, there are no impossibilities.

With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26, KJV)

The LORD hath delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee. (1 Samuel 17:37; KJV)

…I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!] (Hebrews 13:5, Amplified)

Who am I in this world? I am His. What shall I fear? What can I not accomplish?
